Backwrite is a backend platform built around PostgreSQL databases and project branches. Start with the architecture, then choose an SDK, CLI, or MCP workflow.
Choose your workflow
Use the SDK for application integration, the CLI for terminal workflows, and MCP tools for agent-assisted schema inspection and type generation. All project access still requires the appropriate credentials.
Separate development from production
A project branch is a customer backend environment. It is distinct from a Backwrite platform release channel. Check the project ID, branch ID, and granted permissions before running a migration.
